Ooh la Lalï

by Juliet on March 20, 2010

Kensal Rise resident, Nelli Turner, the designer behind :bi la li: recently opened Lalï boutique, in the heart of Kensal. We say heart – the truth is, unless you’re paying attention when you stroll down Station Terrace you might not notice it – and trust us, fashion lovers, you don’t want to miss this shop.

Ooh la local
The style savvy among you might know that this New Generation award-winning label used to be stocked in Selfridges, net-a-porter.com and b-Store to name a few outlets, and now our West London ‘hood has the honour of having its greatest hits and new collections available exclusively at Lalï. Nelli’s modernist designs sit alongside other London-based labels such as Ally Capellino’s bags and belts, laidback chic shoes by B-Store, and Eley Kishimoto‘s graphic clothes. But the best difference? Lalï is keepin’ it real K-Rize.

Attention to detail
Find dramatic statement jewellery from Mawi, limited-edition sunglasses by Zanzan and quirky perspex pieces by Tatty Devine alongside luxurious cashmere and bags from de Roemer. Among this cornucopia of delights you’ll also find a cherry-picked  vintage selection that tempts with Chanel, YSL, Dior and Balenciaga finds. And if that’s not enough to write home about, the classic German stationery due to arrive soon in the shop will be.

Art and soul
Lalï isn’t a mere purveyor of threads either – this an exhibition space. Showcasing the work of upcoming artists, original drawings by Felix Handley are currently on-air, his work having been snapped up by the likes of Charles Saatchi, Paul Smith and Betty Jackson. Testament that it’s not just a pretty place.
