Kensal Green Fake Festival – cancelled!

by Juliet on July 19, 2010

Sadly they didn’t sell enough tickets and this event has now been cancelled! Sniff. We were looking forwardto it – maybe next year!

Saturday 28 August, Roundwood Park (12pm-11pm). Tongue-in-cheek tribute bands tickle your fancy? Try fun-for-all-the-family Fake Festival

We’re in the throes of festival season, and especially excited about this live-music jamboree coming our way. Not only is Notting Hill Carnival on our horizon, but that Bank Holiday weekend we’ll also have live performances of Arctic Monkeys, Stereophonics and Blondie on our doorstep. Ahem, you’ll notice I said ‘of’ and not ‘from’…  Other bands playing actual musical instruments and everything, includes Zalinski, Motorcycle Display Team, Capelle, Foxy and Wesian.

Have a listen…
BLONDIED:
Hanging On The Telephone
STEREOTONICS:
Innocent
ANTARCTIC:
I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

Fake Festivals have been going since 2007, but this is their first fraudulent-fun foray down to London. All the action is marquee-housed, so it’s not only weatherproof, but fencing all around helps give the event added child-friendliness. As well as a licensed bar, there’s an amazing 10k sound system and fancy lighting – all guaranteeing an electric atmosphere. Plenty of entertainment for even the most ADD-inclined whippersnappers and young-at-heart music lovers.

Early-bird tickets can be bought before 28 July: adult (18+ years) £20; young person (7–17 years) £15; family (2 x adult, 2 x young person) £60.

It was too much money to see a bunch of fake bands. (We live in London and REAL bands play here 7 nights a week. What’ s the point of seeing fake bands…?) Book a couple of decent REAL bands and then people will turn up.
