This week, 14–17 September, Cookie Girl is hosting afternoon teas at the Shop (3pm–5pm, £15 in advance; more info on Facebook).
[On opening night earlier this summer, long-time local Zoe took some notes. Sorry for taking so long to share them.]
We were among Kensal Rise’s great and good (and very, very bad) who all turned out on a beautiful sunny evening in mid-July to toast Ben Magid and Luke Allen on the opening of their new bar and NW10’s hottest new niche drinking establishment, The Shop.
Water-drinkers? Not many: but their H2O came triple-filtered in re-used wine bottles – nothing here goes to waste – all is a celebration of everything ‘once loved’. And, even better, anything that is not nailed down, is for sale. So the establishment can truly live up to its name.
Inspired drinks, locally sourced food, pretty cupcakes and great music ensured nobody wanted to leave: guests spilled out roadblock-style onto Chamberlayne Road…
And it’s been like that many nights since.
So, the Shop wants locals to get involved and help them to constantly evolve… keep tuned as they’ll also be hosting various pop-up gigs from fashion to music to art and everything in between: we loved their Broken Down Doll Boutique Bar. Check their Facebook page for regular updates and more information.
Eye-grabbing surprises also await in the loos…
The gents is plastered with vintage 70s’ porn (right).
The ladies get a powder room resplendent in Tizer’s street graphics.
The Shop is at 75 Chamberlayne Road, Kensal Rise NW10 3ND (020 8969 9399); for more sexy images of their press night, eyeball this Facebook album.
