The parakeets have a base in the cemetery too. I have seen at least 10-12 at a time there in a tree with holes hollowed out of it not far from the fallen down wall on the Harrow Road. In the summer they used to fly over my house at almost exactly 8.30 every night. We also had bats in the garden, well above the garden, in the summer.

I've seen the heron (or something similar) perched on a chimney pot in Haycroft Gardens.  A flock of the bright-green exotic birds (parakeets?) live by the bowling green in Roundwood Park.  Think they might be an off-shoot of a group that have been established for some time in SW London.  Heaven knows what they think of this weather,  but they somehow survived the last winter.

BTW do you know that we also have bats – or at least a bat – in King Edward's Park.  Tho I think he's had the good sense to go into hibernation as I haven't seen him for some weeks.

I found a heron at the back of my garden today. Then i looked up and saw a flock of what looked like canaries….

Unless someone slipped something in my tea I think Kensal Rise/Queens Park has some wonderful wildlife!

Keep an eye out…..
